Campus Visits: Plan Them Now
Consider making your campus visits this spring. During the summer many colleges aren't in session and students are away for summer break, so you won't get to see the campuses in action. If you wait until the fall of senior year, you may find you're too busy to visit schools, especially if you participate in sports and other activities.
Exploring College Campuses
Learn as much as possible about the colleges you're visiting before you go. Use resources such as college websites, College Search, and guides at your local library to gather information. Here are some tips for your campus visits:
- Take a notebook and a camera to record your impressions.
- Eat in the dining hall and visit the campus bookstore to get a taste of day-to-day life.
- Chat with students and find out their likes and dislikes about the school.
- Imagine living and studying at that college for two or four years.
